Overview
The Waterfront Public Realm project enhances viewing terraces, promenades, and public plazas along the Qiantang River. It supports peak tidal-bore tourism while providing everyday recreational spaces for residents.

Programme elements
- Expanded viewing decks with crowd control and safety railings.
- Continuous waterfront promenade with shade and seating.
- Integrated signage for tidal schedules and visitor guidance.
- Landscaping that strengthens seasonal riverfront identity.
Experience and operations
Building on Yanguan’s destination narrative, the project extends the visitor journey by linking spaces, programmes, and services into a cohesive experience. The route frames water edges, native planting, and small habitat nodes to make ecology visible to visitors. Wayfinding, pacing, and dwell points are designed so guests can move between discovery, participation, and rest without losing the sense of place.
Community and seasonal impact
Operations emphasize curated partnerships and repeatable programming. Stewardship plans align cleaning, planting, and seasonal closures with visitor flow. Seasonal refreshes, local collaborations, and performance touchpoints keep the offer fresh while supporting long-term brand equity.
